WISPA Congratulates FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel

The following statement may be attributed to Claude Aiken, President and CEO of WISPA:

Washington, DC, January 21, 2021 – WISPA extends its congratulations to Jessica Rosenworcel, who was just appointed Acting Chairwoman of the FCC by President Joe Biden.  Since coming to the FCC in 2012, Acting FCC Chairwoman Rosenworcel has been a forward-thinking champion of bridging the digital divide, and of expanding access to broadband through, among other means, more unlicensed spectrum.  She has a tremendous understanding of how the FCC works, deep knowledge of communications law, FCC rules and policy precedents, and is keenly aware of the needs of the various stakeholders in our multi-faceted communications industry.  We look forward to working with her as she guides the FCC.

Congratulations, Acting Chairwoman Rosenworcel!

WISPA’s 1000 members are composed of fixed Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) and the industry that supports fixed wireless broadband, including equipment suppliers, support services, and other components needed to run a successful business. Our members, and WISPs, in general, provide broadband access to millions of residential and business customers, often in exclusively rural areas.
