House GOP Lawmakers Introduce Legislation to Open Up Broadband Deployment

Washington, DC, February 16, 2021 – WISPA is encouraged by the House Republicans’ introduction of legislative measures designed to help improve broadband access for all Americans.  This comprehensive package of bills contains a number of meaningful, focused ideas that, if enacted, would remove many stubborn barriers which limit the reach of providers to deliver broadband to unserved, underserved and marginalized communities.
WISPA’s 1000 members are composed of fixed Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) and the industry that supports fixed wireless broadband, including equipment suppliers, support services, and other components needed to run a successful business. Our members, and WISPs, in general, provide broadband access to millions of residential and business customers, often in exclusively rural areas.
