Claude Blog: Thanks!Just wanted to drop a line and thank everyone who attended WISPAMERICA, either virtually or in-person, last week. The last full show we had was in October 2019. But, like riding a bike, we all got back on and, boy, what a ride we had! The panels were filled with tons of great info. The exhibitors brought their latest products and services to show off. And our ISP community came out in full force. Attendance was on par with any show we’ve ever done, with 970 attendees in all.
Not even a tornado could stop us.
I want to give a special thanks to all of our sponsors; our keynote speakers; all the panelists; Nathan Stooke for putting together such a great agenda; and Matt Larsen for graciously hosting me during our opening fireside chat. All came together to make this event such a great accomplishment for WISPA and our members.
We’ve been locked in for over a year. And, as things have started to look better, many decided to travel to Grapevine to see old friends, share stories and expertise, and, well, to feel normal again. I think those are important drivers of this WISPAMERICA’s success. But I think it’s more, too. Our community has been through a lot this past year. It’s worked long hours to keep America connected through these tough times, keeping families together, kids “in school,” workers employed, and helping to beat back a health safety crisis we hopefully will never experience again. Put more plainly – without members like ours, our communities would be worse off, and that “curve” still in dire need of bending.
So, WISPAMERICA was a celebration of that work, and a memorial of sorts for those who didn’t make it through.
This community is strong and giving. The show offered yet another opportunity to prove that. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all who donated to the Knackstedt family and their son Sam to ease some of the worry and expenses they face with Sam’s illness. We raised over $14,000 for them, which I know they truly appreciate.
Again, thanks so much for coming out. And we look forward to seeing you again, October 11th – 14th at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, for WISPAPALOOZA.
