WISPA Welcomes New FCC Broadband Label
The following statement may be attributed to Louis Peraertz, VP of Policy for WISPA – Broadband Without Boundaries:Washington, DC, November 18, 2022 – WISPA welcomes today’s release of the FCC’s new broadband label. It will help consumers better understand their internet access purchases, enabling them to quickly see “under the hood,” and allow for an effective apples-to-apples comparison tool when shopping for services in the marketplace.
WISPs provide fixed wireless and fiber connectivity in some of the hardest to reach parts of the country – rural, under-resourced and Tribal areas. They are small companies whom their customers love. WISPA thanks the Commission for “right-sizing” its rule to accord with the realities of small providers, and we look forward to working with the FCC, consumer advocates and other stakeholders on the remaining questions before the agency.
